Marcia Gay Harden on Shailene Woodley in 'The Descendants'
Published: Get married., November. 23, 2011, 12:00pm PTBy 'The Descendants'"In 2005 I'd the truly amazing recognition of playing Shailene Woodley's mother in 'Felicity: A United States Girl Adventure.' I had been immediately astounded by her work ethic, both off and on set. Here would be a youthful girl perfectly embodying a Colonial era, minuet-dancing, horse riding digital rebel. Even so, she was using a depth and quality that separated her from a lot of other child stars. Indeed, she was a motivation to any or all her cast. Not remarkably, watching Shailene navigate the turbulent waters of 'The Descendants' was again riveting. She's assigned with coming to once psychologically vulnerable and raw, but in some way guarded and cynical in the same moment. Shailene is inspiring, declining to select from cliche or vanity, but delighting us together with her honest anger, her unpredicted humor, and her shatteringly raw breakdown. She does not request us to love her, however in revealing the reality of her abandonment and her disappointment together with her mother, she enables us to recognize wonderful our kids, and also to yank at our hearts once we watch them develop. Shailene, among your many moms, appreciate teaching me valuable training when i watch you develop.InchCome back towards the SAG Preview Contact the range newsroom at news@variety.com
